Do skylights bring heat into the home?
Not ours. Solatube utilises INFRAREDuction technology, a proprietary process to extract infrared wavelengths on the first light bounce before they can be transferred through the tube, dispersing heat before it ever enters the building. This ensures that your home stays cool and comfortable while enjoying ample natural light.
How much does a skylight cost?

How do tubular skylights work?
Tubular skylights capture natural light through a roof-mounted dome and redirect it down a reflecting tube, delivering it into your interior spaces. Solatube’s Brighten Up series features tubing made from the most reflective material in the world, making our tubular skylights the most effective in balancing light output and heat gain. The Solatube 290DS tubular skylight
delivers the same amount of light output as a traditional skylight five times its size, with only one-fifth of the heat gain.
Are Skylights Hail Proof?
Yes, our domes are made from high-quality acrylic resin for increased impact strength, chemical, and weather resistance. Are Skylights Energy Efficient?

Can You Add a Skylight to an Existing Roof?
Yes. Your home doesn’t require major ceiling or wall alterations. Our experts will install your skylights in just a couple of hours, fitting them between your existing components. Whether you have a pitched roof or a flat roof, our skylight installation process is designed to be quick and efficient.
Can You Install a Skylight Yourself?
While it is possible, we always recommend having one of our trained Solatube Premier Dealers do the installation to ensure a perfect fit and optimal performance.
Our trained installers will have the job done in 2-3 hours, meanwhile, you will need to allow 4-10 hours for a DIY install.
Do Skylights Need Planning Permission?
Some minor building renovations, like our tubular skylights, don’t require planning or building approval. However, it’s important to check your state policy and/or Strata for exempt and complying developments.
